Arizona Official Background Checks
The Arizona Department of Public Safety, Criminal History Records Section operates the Central State Repository. Its Criminal History Records page focuses on obtaining and reviewing one's own Arizona record. Arizona does not offer an open DPS name search for any member of the public to obtain another person's statewide rap sheet. The official subject-review route uses a fingerprint card. AZDPS instructs the subject to print the agency card or use a standard FBI blue applicant card, have fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency or approved location, and follow the state submission process.

Gila County GovQA Record Requests

Arizona Public Records Law opens records held by public officers unless another law limits release. Arizona uses several forms of record relief. Sealing under A.R.S. § 13-911 hides eligible criminal case records from public access after a court order. A set aside under A.R.S. § 13-905 is conviction relief but does not necessarily hide every public record. Expungement is used chiefly for qualifying marijuana offenses under A.R.S. § 36-2862.
