Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Gila County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message is retained as needed to answer it. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers receive basic technical facts about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The pages opened and the length of each visit
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring website, when supplied
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show which pages receive traffic and where visits tend to end. Analytics providers combine that usage data for reporting. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how parts of the website function.
What We Do With This Data
Collected technical data supports normal operation and helps connect a request to the service chosen by the visitor. It may be used for:
- Finding and repairing technical faults
- Measuring which pages are useful
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Routing a search to the relevant partner tool
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Gila County Criminal History does not compile, sell, or maintain a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by Gila County courts, the Sheriff's Records Unit, the Arizona Department of Public Safety Central State Repository, and the Arizona DPS Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing choices. Those practices are outside this site's control, so review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Gila County offices, Arizona courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal details.
Advertising companies may track activity across multiple websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring use and performance
- Search partners receiving a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, however, and the website cannot promise that an unauthorized disclosure will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor is believed to have supplied data, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Rights may depend on the law that applies where a visitor lives. Arizona Public Records Law, including A.R.S. § 39-121, concerns records held by public officers, while A.R.S. § 41-1750 limits dissemination from the state criminal-history repository. Those laws do not turn this private website into a government custodian. A visitor may still ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held about them
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of applicable data
- Opt out of certain processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any replacement will appear here with its new effective date, so this page should be reviewed periodically.
